When the CAT got ECLIPSEd...

CAT Registarion began yesterday. And even me, the laziest of CAT-hunters, couldnt resist the excitement. So I bunked a class(again!) so that I could register a suitable slot at the ealiest. A noble reason indeed! And you know what.! noble deeds are usually rewarded(ur mom was right!), and that too very swiftly...
The day began on a wrong note. I took the wrong bus(which was ok if i was going to TIME) and so I'd to alight at a slightly inconvenient stop. (For those of you familiar with ernakulam, read wrong route as Menaka route and right route as Padma route)
Sometimes, fate plays tricks on you (@ ammu: God does exist!!) so that you arrive at a particular place at a particular time.
And the tryst with destiny , or rather with,....hmm....let's call them Dixy and Doxy(for the sake of anonymity) happenend in front of Sunny Diamonds enroute to Axis Bank(which gave out the registration vouchers)
Dixy and Doxy, as most of you have rightly guessed, happen to be girls and also my classmates at TIME.The hand of destiny starts playing its moves before you starts suspecting its presence, before I got out at the inconvenient(which was actually, concenient) spot, before i even took the wrong bus and even before I woke up yesterday...
The first move(by the hand of destiny) was made when I met the same pair of girls at another Bank, buying another application form, each buying on behalf of somebody else... That is to say, I knew their names(I still have doubt as to who's Dixy and who's Doxy...but I knew they were dixy and Doxy). I have got to admit that I hardly know half the girls in my class by their names(being irregular has its downsides too!)
So now, the providence has thrown us together again. Now, the master magician sits back and checks what this guy can do. Does he take his chances? Am I wasting my time on this guy?

It was probably around this time that I got an inkling of his presence, maybe that thought boosted my confidence. Soon we were talking about totally random things while hundreds around us(in the queue) were discussing their mock CAT scores and other feline issues.

*not mandatory
(If you are only interested in the main story, you dont have to read this portion. But what happened was hilarious. A man walked briskly past us(while we were discussing the plight of Govindankutty), and suddenly his pants slid from where they were supposed to cling to... I thought for a moment that he was a stripper. So thought Dixy(or Doxy) too... But it turned out that the pants were actually part of his raincoat and he did have an intact pair of Jeans beneath that! So much for the aberration, now go back to the original story)

Wel,it'd suffice to say that I struck a chord with them and when at the end of 2-hr long queue they planned to go for ECLIPSE,they couldnt NOT ask me to join them.
again the roll of the dice! and I had to call quickly and call correctly!!

Me: I didnt' particularly like TWILIGHT and I havent watched NEW MOON, so what's the point...(dramatic pause)
Dixy/Doxy:I'll tell you the story (of New moon)if that's what prevents you... (pause again)
Me: My bro works at Ekm, and he has this curious habit of finding himself in theatres...(TRUTH!!)
Dixy+Doxy:Oho...so u r afraid!
Me(my pride hurt slightly): hmm....not really

By this time, two other girls(nameless classmates) had joined us (we'll call them Pepy and Popy). Now it seemed that all 4 were going for the movie. And here I am,still weighing my options (Bunking class is bad enough and add to it the gossip of bunking class with girls...)

Dixy/Doxy: Are you coming or not? now dont say we didnt call you...
Me: yeah, right(wot the hell!)...I am coming
(and it s here that the magician claps.. 'Bravo! dats my boy!!, he shouts)

now the first problem- how will we all go?-One autorickshaw solved the issue- Dixy on the lap of Pepy and Doxy on Popy and whatever remained, I took the half.
We reach the theatre, as expected, the show had already begun- but who cares anyway!

Now , we enter the hall and it's Dixy/Doxy who sits near me. Well, let me say one thing... Eclipse isnt the kind of movie you could watch with a girl(let alone with 4 girls!). Half the time Bella's on the screen, she kisses someone-either the vampire or the wolf(thank God they don't do something else!)
so there's some kinda tension all around. But there was no accidental brushing of the elbows, no careless meeting of the hands at the common armrest(In case somebody needed clarification :P) And everything went on smoothly, ie until the interval...
For the first time in my theatre-going experience, the villain entered during the interval! he was in the body of Jeby(anonymity not granted!!), another of my classmate, but belonging to the male category... I saw him going out during interval, I really hoped that the girls wouldn't note him....but his cap and and style of walking(even in the dim light) did not escape their eyes too..
Dixy/Doxy: dats,Jeby...right?
Me: I think,yes..

I felt like a man caught in a scandal, or like somebody who was going to ba caught, Sensing my tension, Dixy/Doxy says "call him if you want"
and I had to call him. If he was surprised(shocked) to see me,he concealed it well... He behaved rather casually with us. But his smile when we finally said good bye could mean only this (wait till we get back to the class...)
And the next class is on thursday...hope he catches a real strong bout of cold!(amnesia'd be better-but u knw, we cant have evrything we ask for!)

goodbye fiends!

Retrospection Time (again!!)

I'd all sorts of confusion in naming this post and now that I've finally settled on Retrospection Time (again!!), I think, this at least gives me a sense of direction for now I could effortlessly( hopefully) write it in the mould of its predecessor.
But before getting into the retrospection part, I want you to look at the other options I had in titling it. By this, my intention is not merely to draw your attention to the pains taken by a hardworking blogger(from now on , you gotta show some respect!!), but also to remind you of something you should've learnt in the graphics class -the lesson on perspectives.

BLISS was (and some of you might even think 'is') the best choice at first for no other five lettered word can possibly describe my life at present. The hardest thing I'd to do in the whole of last week was getting up in the middle of night and search for a sweater as I was freezing (and yeah, I had mild fever which dragged on for a week)
Though I'm largely considered a not-so-useful guy ('useless' might hurt my pride at a later time), I can't think of any other period in the terrains of my accessible memory where my life was spent in a more unrewarding manner.
I know why you're itching, I was just getting into it. The obvious question- what about TIME? what about CAT coaching? That means it's time to move into the second heading that died in its birth.

FILLING IN THE BLANKS: IIMB is , i must accept, a very tempting option (even if IIMA is better) for more than one obvious reason. But I'm sure they won't take in people who bunks coaching classes for movies (saw Expendables- Statham rocks! the story sucks). Not just that, even I'm not sure if I really want it...
Jokes aside, this CAT coaching is merely doing the purpose of filling in the blank, the blank until the eventual TCS joining date. Something else like orkut or facebook.

Some other titles are:
1) CAT CHAT- simple and efficeint.
2) If i wasn't in love, I wouldn't have known how to spend time- a bit long, but sometimes such things click .
3) thank God I didn't go for GRE !! -  a humorous take on some of my friends who went for GRE and suffer from the same ailment- diarrhea of words. Then I decided against it... ;)

Aaah now we've had plenty of titles and a very long post and to lengthen it with my silly plans would be cruel on the faithful reader. And who on earth is going to worry about doing justice to the title!
